Grant TANGO IV - dr inż. Michał Kunicki, dr hab. inż. Sebastian Borucki prof. PO, dr hab. inż. Andrzej Cichoń prof. PO
Dr inż. Michał Kunicki, dr hab. inż. Sebastian Borucki prof. PO, dr hab. inż. Andrzej Cichoń prof. PO from the Department of Electrical Power and Renewable Energy obtained funding from the NCBR and Development for the implementation of the scientific project “Expert system for the assessment of partial discharges in power transformers” as part of the national project TANGO IV.
Scientific research in this project concerns partial discharges in power transformers. The aim of the project is to find an industrial partner interested in creating an expert system supporting the process of assessing these discharges.
Based on the results of measurements, this system will provide unprecedented support in the assessment of the phenomenon of partial discharges and will reduce the failure rate of high-voltage devices, reduce their operating costs, increase the reliability of electricity supply and will significantly strengthen the safety of people working in the power industry.
The Tango project is a successor to a previously implemented project by a team of scientists from the Department of Power Engineering and Renewable Energy at PO – the Preludium 10 project (2016-2019), financed by the National Science Center. In its implementation, we rely on the knowledge from basic research acquired during the Preludium grant. The amount of the grant is PLN 243,500.00, and its implementation began in September this year. and will last until November 2021.
